Annual General Meeting

Each year, you will be invited to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Verdant Isle Pensions. You will receive a notice detailing the time, location, and agenda of the meeting at least 14 days in advance.

All members are entitled to attend the meeting and vote on the matters presented. If you are unable to attend, you may designate a proxy to vote on your behalf. Each member is entitled to one vote per business item.

The AGM addresses several key matters, including:

  • Approval of Financial Statements: Review and approve the financial statements for the preceding financial year.
  • Appointment of Trustees: Elect trustees to oversee the management of the pension plan.
  • Trustee Remuneration: Approve or amend the remuneration of trustees, if applicable.
  • Agent Reports: Receive reports on the terms and remuneration of agents delegated with administrative or investment duties.
  • Appointment of Auditors: Appoint auditors for the upcoming year.
  • Additional items may be added to the agenda as needed. Your participation and vote are crucial, as any resolution passed at the meeting will impact all members, including those who do not attend or vote.

Please note that trustees of Verdant Isle Pensions are required to be invested in the plan.

We encourage you to attend the AGM and take an active role in shaping the future of your pension plan.

Other items of business will be added to the agenda, as required. You are encouraged to attend and vote on the business presented. Any resolution passed at a meeting will affect all members, even you – regardless of whether you attend or vote.

It is also a requirement that the trustees must be invested in Verdant Isle Pensions. To date, the trustees have all worked on a voluntary basis and have not requested compensation for their work.

Other meetings

Additional meetings may be convened at the discretion of the trustees or upon the request of at least twenty (20) or more members. If such a request is made, it must be presented to the trustees, who are then obligated to organize a meeting.

Member Handbook

Within 30 days of starting work with your employer, you should receive a copy of the Member Handbook. This booklet provides an overview of the key provisions of the Plan, as well as your rights and obligations under the Cayman Islands National Pensions Act and Regulations.

Statements

You will receive bi-annual statements for the plan year ending on September 30th and March 31st. Additionally, you can access monthly statements through our online member services. These online statements are updated monthly, ensuring you always have the most current information about your account.
